Ortho, meta, and para phenylenediamine are prohibited ingredients of hair dye because they cause dermatitis, irritation, allergic reactions, and cancer. It is required a reliable and validated method to identify all three hair dyes simultaneously. The analysis method using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) with a ultra violet detector has been developed to identify ortho, meta, and para phenylenediamine in hair dye preparations. HPLC analytical method for the identification of ortho, meta , and para phenylenediamine was optimized using methanol: water: 0.5% sodium ascorbate (50: 40: 10) as a solvent and phenyl-C18 column X-bridge (4.6 x 250 mm, 5 µm particle size) with phosphate buffer solution pH 10: methanol (95: 5) as mobile phase, with a flow rate of 1.0 mL / min and UV detector at 290 nm. After optimized, the methode was validated. It can be concluded that the analysis method is valid with the retention time of ortho, meta and para phenylenediamine are 1.092%, 1.049% and 0.817%, respectively, and the limit of detection of ortho, meta, and para phenylenediamine are 0.132 µg/g, 0.195 µg/g and 62.468 µg/g, respectively.

PRAGMATICS ROLE IN THE EFL TEACHING TO INDONESIAN JUNIOR AND SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

EFL students crucially need pragmatic competence to communicate appropriately and effectively. However, teaching pragmatic aspects is easier said than done in the Indonesian classroom context. This study aimed to question (1) how Indonesian EFL textbook writers introduce pragmatic aspects to junior and senior high school students, (2) what barriers to teaching pragmatics are encountered by the Indonesian EFL teachers, and (3) to what extent EFL students make use of pragmatic aspects when they speak Indonesian and English. To address these questions, some English textbooks written by Indonesian writers were analyzed, and some Indonesian EFL teachers and students were selected to be respondents: answering questionnaires and composing short dialogues respectively. The result revealed that pragmatic aspects were partially discussed in the textbooks and rarely taught by the EFL teachers due to some obstacles. As a result, the EFL students’ pragmatic competence was not developed properly. Because of the importance of students’ pragmatic skills, a further study of a practical teaching is needed for the EFL teachers in order to facilitate the EFL students to develop their pragmatic competence.

This research was aimed to create attractive learning atmosphere which can make students excited inside
theclass.Education was a right for every nation. It had to be given to improving a nation. Chemistry subject, especially in
hydrocarbon chapter, was less-favorable by most students due to its difficulty level. Learning outcomes score were low.
Many research showed that various method, strategy or another approach in teaching chemistry subject had
significantlyimproved towards learning theoutcome of students. One of the approaches was by virtual animation as part
of ICT. Based on data result analysis from this research, there was 0,000 < α = 0.05 significance. As result, H0 was rejected. Itmeans that there was significant improve learning outcome using multimedia animation. The role of ICT as learning model should be utilised for granted by teachers to enriched chemistry science in school’s scope. Silahkan Download disini !

A trans-disciplinary approach and inquiry-based learning model of
social studies

This study describes the learning of social studies using both a trans-disciplinary approach and
an inquiry-based learning model, through the international baccalaureate curriculum implemented by some schools in
Bandung, Indonesia. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive research, which seeks to examine
information from various viewpoints to complement the data sourced to impact the development of knowledge in regard
to the learning of social studies in primary schools. It has been revealed that the implementation of the trans-disciplinary
approach in the teaching of social studies based on the international baccalaureate curriculum has been loosely
conducted at the fourth-grade level in the schools studied; however, just in a similar situation, the inquiry-based
learning model showed improvements in the teaching of social studies in the same schools. Based on this, it is therefore
concluded that both the trans-disciplinary approach and inquiry-based model are good methodologies.

PATH ANALYSIS

This paper is aimed to report a research that analyse the relation
between human development, global competitiveness and happiness as
well as the impact of human development, both direct and indirect
impacts, on happiness, with global competitiveness as moderator
variable. Cross-nation data on human development, global
competitiveness and happiness indices were collected from 123
countries and employed in a path analysis model. The results show that
the correlation between human development and happiness was
positive and very strong. The countries that had high happiness index
were the countries with high human development index. The
correlation between human development and global competitiveness
was positive and very strong. The correlation between global
competitiveness and happiness was also positive and strong. The direct
impact of human development on happiness was positive and
significant. The indirect impact of human development on happiness,
again, was positive and significant. It is then suggested that human
development sustainably be promoted in order to make nations
competitive globally and then make the people happy.

The rapid development of technology has led massive changes in every aspect of our life, one
of which is the way we teach in classroom. The volume Teaching in a Digital Age is aimed at providing a base theory and knowledge to teachers and instructors. It also offers alternative classroom procedures that both teachers and instructors could employ to teach their students within a digital environment. The volume is written by A.W. (Tony) Bates, a well-known author, practitioner, and professor in educational media research. It is one of Bates’s extraordinary works on educational technology, online and distance learning; and it has been translated into such languages as French, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Serbo-Croat (p. viii). Although the volume was first published in 2015 and specifically does not discuss the incorporation of
technology in language learning classroom, the discussion is still relevant to the field as it provides fundamental principles about instructional approaches and methods and the use of technology in both online and offline modes of instruction.

COSURFACTANT ON THE PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF ASPIRIN MICROEMULSION

Background: Aspirin is recommended as a first-line antiplatelet drug for all types of acute diseases that cause thrombosis in the blood vessel,
especially in cardiovascular disease. Orally administered aspirin has side effects such as the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and has presystemic
metabolism in the gastrointestinal tract and liver. Transdermal delivery offers an alternative for administering aspirin that by passes the gut and this
may be more convenient and safe for long-term use. This study used a form of microemulsion to prevent hydrolysis of aspirin because it contains a
high concentration of the surfactant. A microemulsion is a dosage form that can penetrate into the skin for transdermal delivery.
Objectives: The aim of this research was to evaluate the effect of Tween 80 and propylene glycol as the surfactant and cosurfactant on the physical
stability of the microemulsion.
Materials and Methods: Various concentrations of Tween 80 and propylene glycol (2:1) were used 54%, 57%, 60%, and 63%, and the physical
stability of the different microemulsions was tested for 6 weeks.
Result: The results showed that the formula F3 was the most stable formula. The formula F3 showed the following properties such as pH of 3.74±0.30,
viscosity of 1198.76±56.02 cps, BJ of 1.0669±0.005 g/mL, surface tension of 38.77±0.43 dyne/cm, and particle size of 49.46±6.91 nm.
Conclusions: Based on the results concluded that the optimum concentration of Tween 80 as the surfactant and propylene glycol as the cosurfactant
with a ratio of 2:1 was 60%.

Kelopak bunga rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) mengandung senyawa yang memiliki aktivitas antioksidan, sehingga dapat menangkal radikal bebas. Agar lebih praktis dan efisien maka diformulasikan dalam bentuk hard molded lozenges. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasikan hard molded lozenges ekstrak bunga rosella dengan penambahan kombinasi corn syrup dan manitol dan mengamati pengaruhnya terhadap kualitas fisik sediaan. Kombinasi corn syrup dan manitol pada sediaan hard molded lozenges dilakukan dalam beberapa perbandingan, yaitu perbandingan 1:4, 1:5, 1:6, 1:7. Pengaruh penambahan corn syrup dan manitol pada sifat fisik hard molded lozenges yang meliputi organoleptis, tekstur (kekerasan dan kelengketan), kadar air, kadar abu, dan jumlah gula reduksi dianalisis. Diperoleh data hasil uji kekerasan pada masing-masing formula yaitu 1302,1 gf, 1523,9 gf, 2033,2 gf, dan 3038,1 gf. Data hasil uji kelengketan -198,3 gf, -138,7 gf, -121,2 gf, dan -73,9 gf. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan kombinasi corn syrup dan manitol dapat meningkatkan kekerasan dan menurunkan kelengketan sediaan.





Rosella calyxes (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) have antioxidant activity. To be more practical and efficient in its use, it was formulated into hard molded lozenges. This study was aimed to formulate hard molded lozenges of rosella calyxes with the addition of a combination of corn syrup and mannitol and to evaluate the physical quality of the lozenges. The combination of corn syrup and mannitol are prepared in ratio of 1:4, 1:5, 1:6, and 1:7. The physical properties evaluation of the hard molded lozenges included organoleptic, texture (hardness and stickiness), moisture content, ash content, and the number of reducing sugar. The hardness of the lozenges in each formula were 1302.1 gf, 1523.9 gf, 2033.2 gf, and 3038.1 gf, respectively. The adhesiveness of the lozenges in each formula were -198.3 gf, -138.7 gf, -121.2 gf, and -73.9 gf, respectively. It can be concluded that the addition of combination of corn syrup and mannitol increased the hardness and decreased the adhesiveness of preparation.

Noni fruits contain scopoletin. It known as inhibiting agent for Pityrosporum ovale
growing, the dandruff floral factor. To get the optimum effect, the 96% ethanol extract
of noni fruit (Morinda citrifolia.L) formulated into scalp lotion with cetostearyl
alcohol as a thickening agent. This research aimed at knowing the effect of
increasing cetostearyl alcohol concentration as thickening agent on physical stability
of the scalp lotion 96% ethanol extract of noni fruit. Firs step of research was made
noni fruit juice, followed by freeze drying process untill powder of noni juice formed.
Second step the powder was extracted by maceration method followed by vacuum
evavorated it to obtain viscous noni fruit extract. Scalp lotion made into 4 formulas
were: F1 (0.5%), F2 (1%), F3 (1.5%), F4 (2%). Each formula was evaluated every
week for 6 weeks in room temperature (± 25°C) for organoleptic, homogeneity,
emulsion type, pH, viscosity, density and separation phase test. The viscosity data
were analyzed by a theoretical approach and one-way ANOVA. Significant value
obtained of ANOVA p<0.05 means that there are significant differences in each formula, so it followed by Tukey HSD test. Based on analyzed of all data, it can be concluded that increasing concentrations of cetostearyl alcohol can increase the physical stability of scalp noni fruit extract lotion. This study aims to generate the effectiveness of information technology system of elearning
in order to improve the quality of learning. This research is motivated by the
vision and mission of UHAMKA. E-Learning is potential to make the learning
process more effective because either students or teachers are significantly benefited
in terms of place, flexibility, and enable learning activities anytime, anywhere, and
can be repeated. It is more efficient so that the productivity of activities is more.
Besides, it saves the cost of education, especially for students outside the city. In the
e-learning, it is not required additional specific software on the computer, as long as
the computer is equipped with an Internet connection.
Supporting theory used in this study are: theories about the effectiveness of the
information technology system of e-learning as proposed by Iivary (2005), Reymond
Mc Leod (2007), David Garvin, Jayce Rowe, Ralph Neal, (2000), Liu , Arnett (2000),
Molla, Lickers (2001), Glossary (2001), Vaughan Waller (2001), Kamarga (2002).
This research was conducted by the research approach of multivariate statistical
methods dependencies of Structural Equation Model (SEM). This research was
conducted by using quantitative data and positivism approaches. The data collection
was used survey techniques in the form of questionnaires. The population of this
research is the students of Master of Education Administration, University of
Muhammadiyah PROF. DR. HAMKA, total of 1117 people, and 102 people as
sample which consisted of 45 females and 57 males.
The results showed that the effectiveness of the information technology system of elearning
significantly helps students in learning and acquiring learning outcomes
higher (P> 0.95). E-Learning is able to improve the effectiveness of performance of
faculty and students because of the utilization of space, time, cost, and energy was
more efficient. Therefore, e-learning based model is effective to improve the quality
of teaching and learning
