Fraksi etanol 70% kulit buah nanas (Ananas comosus (L) Merr) memberikan aktivitas
terbaik dalam penanganan hiperlipidemia. Hal ini diduga karena terdapat kandungan antioksidan
flavonoid, saponin dan tanin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas fraksi kulit
buah nanas dalam menurunkan kadar kolesterol total, trigliserida, LDL dan meningkatkan kadar
HDL darah hamster hiperlipidemia. Ekstraksi kulit buah nanas dilakukan dengan cara maserasi
bertingkat yang menggunakan 3 pelarut yaitu n-Heksan, etil asetat dan etanol 70%. Uji fitokimia
dilakukan dengan metode kromatografi lapis tipis. Hamster syrian jantan yang telah
diaklimatisasi diberikan pakan tinggi lemak kecuali kontrol normal. Kelompok kontrol positif
yang diberikan atorvastatin 0,099 mg/80gBB dan fenofibrat 0,99 mg/80gBB. Kelompok uji 1, 2,
dan 3 diberi fraksi etanol 70% kulit buah nanas dengan dosis 140, 240 dan 340 mg/kgBB
sedangkan kelompok kontrol normal dan kontrol negatif tidak diberi perlakuan. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan dosis 3 memiliki aktivitas tertinggi terhadap penurunan kadar kolesterol total
(59,83%), trigliserida (56,69%), LDL (50,25%), dan peningkatan kadar HDL (50,67%) pada
darah hamster. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini dosis 3 fraksi etanol 70% kulit buah nanas
memiliki aktivitas yang sebanding dengan fenofibrat dosis 0,99 mg/KgBB dan atorvastatin dosis
0,167 mg/kgBB.

This study focuses on the discourse about the meaning of Jihad that emerged in
the Muhammadiyah circle as one of the Islamic Organizations in Indonesia.
The discussion of meaning of Jihad as a way of peace or a way of war becomes
crucial amid radicalism, terrorism, violence movements and chaos waged on
behalf of religion. However, Muhammadiyah believes that the meaning of
Jihad is anti-war and anti-violence which strengthens the understanding of
Islam as the religion of rahmatan lil alamin (a mercy to all creation). This
belief is criticism and contra-discourse towards camps that perceive Jihad as
war and acts of violence. This study uses Paul Ricoeur’s Interpretation Theory
and focuses on the interpretation of the text based on the distinction between
the text and the reader. The method is Ricoeur’s hermeneutic method which
focuses on the distortion of language, discourse, and textuality. The study
shows that textually the meaning of Jihad among the Muhammadiyah circle is
jihad lil-muwajahah, or the struggle to tackle a challenge by creating a superior
movement, for example, “Jihad Konstitusi.” Muhammadiyah’s understanding
of the meaning of Jihad can be used as a counter-discourse on the meaning of
Jihad which well known as an act of terrorism.

This study focus on the process of understanding how Muhammadiyah is interpreted as
Islamic organisation and Pancasila is as the ideology. The understanding toward Pancasila as
the ideology is important because the Khalifah ideology appear to replace Pancasila.
Furthermore, the drawback of globalisation which bring neoliberalism issue into society
weaken the principles of Pancasila. In addition, destructive cult appears to claim that their
movement/ organisation apply the most the principles of pancasila. This study aims to
investigate the strategies used by Muhammadiyah in implementing the five principle of
pancasila ad the ideology. This study used hermeneutika Paul Ricoeur methodology which
emphasis on the interpretation on distantiation between text and reader. The findings
mentioned that the understanding about Pancasila is rely in al-Qur’an’s Saba verse 15
“baldatun thayyibatun wa rabbun ghafur”, (a good country is in Allah’s forgiveness). In discourse
analysis, this verse is interpreted by Muhammadiyah that Indonesia is a country which is used
pancasila as the ideology. They believe that Indonesia is darul ahdi wa syahadah then this belief
become cons discourse to against some movements to establish Khalifah Ideology.

The writer compiled this module to help students how to read Academic Reading. There are some tips and strategies that can help students understand the content of the reading. Reading strategies are adapted from “ Longman Preparation for TOEFL Test “and other supporting books for practice answering questions. It is expected that by using adequate reading strategies and exercises, students become eager to read academic writing. Before the midterms students are taught reading strategies as well as intensive exercises. The exercises are taken from online reading books such as the “Reading Comprehension Questions” 3rd Edition.
After the mid term test, students will be provided with reading materials related to their major. The materials were taken from differen sources.

The interest to do this research is to investigate the impact of technology transformation on the lecturer’s performance. The terms technical performance in this research are divided into five (5) indicators: engaging and empowering learning, and teaching with technology, leadership, accommodation (syllabus and lesson scheme), and infrastructure provided by the campus. The findings indicate that many lecturers have a lack of knowledge in technology transformation. However, all lecturers must have it for the teaching and learning process in the 21st-century. The research methods used were descriptive analysis, observations, quantitative and semi-structured qualitative research, and the questionnaires done using Google Form. There were sixty-four (64) respondents in this research. The result shows that the use of technology proves its significant impact on the lecturer’s performance.

The Exploration of Skilled and Less-Skilled EFL Graduate Students’ on L1 and L2 Writing Strategies

This study aims to analyze the similarities, differences, and transferability of students’ writing strategies in L1 (Indonesian) and L2 (English). Data were obtained from four participants majoring in English Education, two males and two females, which were categorized into skilled and less-skilled writers. The data were collected for four months using various methods, namely think-aloud protocols (TAPs), retrospective and semi-structured interviews, observations, and written drafts. The result showed that students employed similar personal strategies while writing in Indonesian (L1) and English (L2). This means that they transferred L1 strategies to L2 with some variances and similarities. The skilled writers viewed writing as a cyclical process of planning, writing, reading/rereading, rehearsing, and revising their texts. Meanwhile, less-skilled writers tended to employ linear and less recursive strategies. Furthermore, subsequent studies need to be conducted using these research findings and suggestions.
