Islam adalah agama yang universal (syumul). Ajaran Islam tidak hanya berkenaan dengan masalah akidah dan ibadah yang bersifat transendental. Tapi juga mencakup muamalah, ajaran Islam yang berkenaan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Islam mengajarkan manusia agar menjadi pribadi yang tidak hanya dekat secara spiritual dengan Allah Swt., tapi juga dapat menempatkan diri secara baik dalam pergaulan social. Aturan-aturan Islam yang berkenaan dengan muamalah atau hablun minannas pada dasarnya bersifat umum. Allah, pada banyak hal, hanya memberikan prinsip-prinsip umumnya. Namun untuk beberapa hal Allah memberikan aturannya cukup detail, misalnya masalah perkawinan dan hukum waris. Karenanya, pengetahuan mengenai aturan-aturan ini menjadi sangat penting.
Buku ini menyajikan hukum Islam yang berkenaan dengan aturan muamalah, terutama masalah perkawinan, kewarisan, hibah, wasiat, wakaf, dan beberapa masalah kontemporer. Hukum ini penting bukan hanya semata-mata ada aturannya secara literal dalam Alquran. Tapi persoalan-persoalan ini juga sudah menjadi perbincangan, bahkan pengamalan aktual sehari-hari dalam masyarakat. Bahkan sebagian besar telah menjadi aturan formal negeri ini, seperti Kompilasi Hukum Islam (KHI).[]

This paper explains the functions of mosque as one of Islamic educational institutions. The data is the result of writer’s research library. It is concluded from the research that mosque is one of Islamic educational institutions which is substantively neglected. Therefore, there should be a thought to encourage that mosque is not only a worship place in strict sense. Moreover, mosque is expected to play a wider role in various aspects of life.

Fractions Division Knowledge of Elementary School Student: The Case of Lala

Division of fractions is often acknowledged by mysterious rule which is not based on conceptual knowledge. The purpose of the study was to explore elementary school student’s knowledge of division fractions. For this purpose, a case study was conducted. The participant of the study was Lala (pseudonym) who enrolled at one elementary school in East Jakarta. The data were collected by administering written test and semi-structured interview respectively. The findings of the study indicated that Lala was able to describe strategy of division fractions as inverse of repeated addition flexibly. She also had basic understanding of fractions division concept as equal sharing, but when she was challenged with advance problems, she performed poorly. Lala also encountered difficulty when dealing with dividing fraction by fraction problem in which she interpreted it as subtraction problem. In this case, her procedural knowledge was likely to be more salient than her conceptual knowledge.

Pengaruh Model Learning Cycle Terhadap Kemampuan Keterampilan Proses Sains (KPS) Mahasiswa Biologi

Penelitian yang menggunakan metode Quasi Eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle terhadap keterampilan proses sains mahasiswa dalam matakuliah Vertebrata. Sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi semester IV pada tahun akademik 2011/2012. Penguasaan kemampuan keterampilan proses sains (KPS) diukur melalui tes KPS berbentuk pilihan ganda sebanyak 30 soal untuk mengukur pemilikan tujuh jenis KPS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle pada kemampuan KPS kelas eksperimen cenderung berbeda signifikan dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Dari penggunaan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle kemampuan beberapa jenis KPS responden dapat terlatih. Hal ini tampak dari persentase rata-rata untuk setiap jenis KPS, diantaranya KPS observasi (97%), KPS klasifikasi (64%), dan KPS aplikasi (61%). Model pembelajaran Learning Cycle lebih cocok digunakan pada matakuliah yang mempunyai karakteristik yang sama dengan matakuliah vertebrata. Model pembelajaran Learning Cycle kemampuan KPS mahasiswa cenderung berbeda nyata daripada model pembelajaran konvensional.

Indonesian Pre-Service Teachers Learning Motivations and Goal Achievements: A Qualitative Study

The purpose of the present study was to investigate Indonesian pre-service teachers’ motivation and achievement goal who studied abroad. The participants of the study were two Indonesian students who enrolled at Secondary Science and Mathematics Education Department on one public university in Ankara, Turkey. Semi structured interview and classroom observation were conducted to understand participants’ motivation, achievement goal and the ways to develop it. Findings of the study indicated that by considering Self-Determination Theory participants demonstrated various types of motivation, to wit: amotivation, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation to study. In addition, in compliance with the 3 x 2 achievement goal model, they held multiple types of achievement goals. Different types of motivations and achievement goals led them to exhibit different means in developing their motivations and achievement goals. Implications of the study are discussed.

LOCAL HISTORY OF JAKARTA AND MULTICULTURALATTITUDE (HISTORICAL LOCAL STUDY OF BETAWI ETHNIC)

This is a literature review about local history of Jakarta and multicultural attitude. In the context of local history of Jakarta, ethnic Betawi as ethnic origin Jakarta is formed from the process of inter-ethnic assimilation imported by the Dutch colonial government in its political and economic interests. In its development, the Betawi ethnic group continued to strengthen and succeeded in establishing their own distinctive identity as well as disturbing with other ethnic groups in Indonesia, although in their present development their existence is decreasing due to development interest which is not able to open wide room for Betawi ethnicity itself because various causes. The Betawi ethnic group has a strong identity concerning Betawi cultural heritage such as strong religious soul, respect for diversity, friendly, homoris, helpful, open, tolerant to differences and so on. As a part of Jakarta’s local history, ethnic Betawi history can be explored as a source of inspiration and a source of awareness in instilling multicultural souls in Jakarta, as a metropolitan city with increasingly diverse ethnicity towards social life within the framework of peace and harmony.
