The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of ice breaking by doing stand�up comedy on the result of mathematical belief. This research was conducted at SMPN 37 Jakarta on 2nd grade in the 2nd-semester academic year 2016-2017. The research design used was the treatment by level 2×2 with learning method as a dependent variable which is the ability to understand the mathematics concept as a moderator variable and mathematical belief as an
independent variable. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling. The result showed that the learning through icebreaking by doing stand-up comedy is able to increase the
mathematics’ belief of students. In addition, the learning method has the effect of mathematics’ belief which depends on the ability to understand the mathematics concept of the student. Scholars who study by ice breaking with stand-up comedy teaching have the mathematics’ belief higher than scholars who study by the conventional method.

The acid rain is an environmental disaster that it will be intimidates human life. The development micro-ring resonator sensor created from SOI (Silicon on insulator) and it used to detect acid rain index. In this study, the LUMERICAL software was used to simulate SOI material micro-ring resonator. The result shows the optimum values of fixed parameters from ring resonator have dependent variable in gap width. The layers under ring resonator with silicone (Si) and wafer layer of silicone material (Si) were added to seen three conditions of capability model. Model – 3 is an additional of bottom layer that gives the significant effect on the factor of quality. The optimum value is a peak value that given by the FSR calculation. FSR = 0, it means that is not shows the light propagation in the ring resonator and none of the light coming out on the bus – line.

Improving Performance and Size Reduction of Truncated Microstrip Antenna Using U Slot for LTE Application

This paper proposed new design of truncated microstrip antenna with U slot for LTE application at work frequency of 2300 MHz. The addition of slot with U shape aims to reduce return loss and VSWR from antenna, beside that giving U slot also can reduce the dimension of antenna to be more compact. The proposed antenna have been design. The proposed antenna, designed and realized using a FR4 Epoxy substrate with a dielectric constant (εr) of 4.3, a thickness (h) of 1.6 mm and a loss tan (tan α) of 0.0265 . From the measurement result obtained return loss of -22.95 dB and VSWR of 1.1.5 at working frequency of 2300 MHz with bandwidth of 250 MHz (2100 -2350 MHz). The addition of U slot has been successfully improved the value of return loss until 43 % and VSWR until 15 % compared with truncated microstrip antenna without U slot. Beside that, the dimension of microstrip antenna have been reduced until 17.87 % after using U slot.

Advection-diffusion model for the simulation of air pollution distribution from a point source emission

Advection-diffusion model is one of the mathematical models, which can be used to understand the distribution of air pollutant in the atmosphere. It uses the 2D advection-diffusion model with time-dependent to simulate air pollution distribution in order to find out whether the
pollutants are more concentrated at ground level or near the source of emission under particular atmospheric conditions such as stable, unstable, and neutral conditions. Wind profile, eddy diffusivity, and temperature are considered in the model as parameters. The model is solved by using explicit finite difference method, which is then visualized by a computer program developed using Lazarus programming software. The results show that the atmospheric conditions alone influencing the level of concentration of pollutants is not conclusive as the parameters in the model have their own effect on each atmospheric condition.
